Welcome to the Nepal Hand Surgery Society (NHSS), dedicated to advancing the field of hand surgery and providing support to hand surgery professionals across Nepal.

Membership Categories and Requirements:

1. Founding Member
   • Eligibility: Members of the ad hoc committee at the time of the organization’s registration and foundation
   • Privileges: Recognized for their foundational role in establishing the organization.
   
2. Life Member
   • Eligibility: Registered Orthopedic or Plastic Surgeons in Nepal with at least 8 weeks of training in hand and reconstructive microsurgery plus recommendation from two executive members.
   • Fee: One-time lump sum of Rs. 12,000
   
3. General Member
   • Eligibility: Registered orthopedic surgeons or plastic surgeons in Nepal and recommendation from two executive members.
   Fees:
   • Entry Fee: Rs. 4,000
   • Annual Fee: Rs. 1,000
   
4. Associate Member
   • Eligibility: Residents of Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery or General Surgery in Nepal with interest in hand surgery and recommendation from two executive members.
   Fees:
   • Entry Fee: Rs. 2,000
   • Annual Fee: Rs. 1,000
   
5. Affiliate Member
   • Eligibility: Physiotherapists or hand therapists, Nurses, Health assistants, and a recommendation from two executive members
   Fees:
   • Entry Fee: Rs. 1500
   • Annual Fee: Rs. 500
   
6. International Member
   • Eligibility: Foreign nationals who are renowned surgeons or individuals contributing to hand surgery.
   Fees:
   For general foreign nationals:
   • Entry Fee: USD 100
   • Annual Fee: USD 50
   For citizens of other (specific) countries:
   • Entry Fee: USD 200
   • Annual Fee: USD 100
   
7. Honorary Member
   • Eligibility: Nepali or international individuals with distinguished contributions to hand surgery, as decided by the Executive Committee
   • Fees: Not applicable (honorary status).

Additional Provisions

• Membership Rejection, If denied, the applicant will be informed with reasons.
• Obligations: All members must comply with the statute and regulations.
• Record Keeping: Membership records must follow prescribed formats.
• Non-Transferability: Membership is personal and cannot be transferred
• Upgrading membership: Need to pay additional amount only
• Renewal Deadline: End of Ashwin each year. Late renewals incur additional fees. This applies in case of membership category except for founding and life member.
